The Town of Weymouth is updating its 2014 Open Space and Recreation Plan. The Plan’s purpose is to maintain and enhance the economic, environmental, and social benefits of Weymouth’s open space and recreational resources for the entire community. It inventories local parks, playgrounds, and open spaces, evaluates community and management needs, and outlines a 7-year action plan to meet those needs.
Through the update process, the Town wants to hear from residents and other users of its diverse open space and recreational resources about their experiences. Over the next 6 to 8 months, there will be surveys, workshops, and other opportunities to get public input. Sign up below to receive announcements about upcoming events.
Having a current and approved Plan means the Town remains eligible for state grants, which can be used for new facilities, land acquisition, and resource protection.
ACTION PLAN INPUT SURVEY
From the online community survey, the workshop, and its follow-up survey, we've listened to Weymouth residents to understand their perspective of current open space and recreational resources and future needs. Now, it’s time to decide what actions the Town should take.
Did we get it right? The Town is looking for feedback on the Draft 7-Year Action Plan. Through our survey, please let us know if:
The action is a good idea
The action is a good idea but could be better. [Tell us what would improve the action.]
The action is not a good idea and should be removed. [Tell why it should be removed from the Action Plan.]
The survey is available through Wednesday, October 23, 2019.
